The popular multi discipline surf contest takes place in front of the Tiger’s Milk Bar and Restaurant at Muizenberg Corner, which hosts the Surfers Circle Walk of Fame that was inaugurated earlier this year. The surf has dropped from the wild 6-8 foot storm swell along the Muizenberg coastline yesterday. The swell will continue to ease into the weekend, with rain expected tomorrow.

The early rounds of the World Surf League Longboard Division for Men and Women, round one in the Over 40 Longboard group and the first two rounds of the Men’s surfing division will be held today. The other divisions will surf tomorrow and the final rounds and nine individual Finals will be held on Sunday.

Finalists will share just on R50,000 in prize money and will also win prizes from Mami Wata, the support sponsor for the event. These prizes will include clothing, tshirts and caps and the winner of the grand prize of a special Mami Wata longboard shaped by Hugh Thompson will be announced at the award Ceremony in Tigers Milk on Sunday afternoon.

Each participant will receive a commemorative Tigers Milk T shirt, a goodie bag as well as refreshments and meals which will be provided by Tiger’s Milk. The Tigers Milk Outreach project will be held at Surfers Corner from 10am to 1pm on Sunday.
